Adhesion Coefficient
The empirical adhesion coefficient α takes into account the behavior of soil around the pile skin and depends on the pile material, quality of the pile skin surface and the type of surrounding soil. Values of this coefficient are introduced into the program employing the following graph taken from M.J. Tomlinson: Pile Design and Construction Practice.
